Receiving and Delivery Process
Receiving
Getting items into the system with Vuetura Track is easy.
- The delivery vehicle unloads packages or other items onto your loading dock or into your mailroom. The best way is to have them set onto a simple conveyor track.
- At the other end of the conveyor, a receiving clerk scans the shippers label. The value is stored in the system automatically.
- Optionally, the system automatically weighs the package and enters the value into the system.
|
 |
- The clerk looks up the recipients internal address using Vuetura Track. The address can either be an alias ("Susan Reid" might be an alias for "Accounting Department") or the actual person. This value is then stored.
- The clerk enters any appropriate delivery notes (such as "Contains live fish, please expedite").
- The package is then either sorted directly into carts or shelves, given to another clerk for sorting, or set aside for sorting later, depending on the volume of items to be delivered or the policies of the organization.
- The receiving clerk receives the next item.
- Most receiving personnel report that this process takes from 45 seconds to 5 minutes using manual procedures. With Vuetura Track, the average time is 6-8 seconds per package.

Delivery
Vuetura Track makes receiving items much simpler, but someone still needs to physically sort them and stage them for delivery. A clerk delivers the items to the recipient, who then signs for the package using a stylus on the screen of a handheld computer.
If a bunch of items are being delivered to a single address, the recipient can sign Whenever it is convenient, the clerk returns the handheld computer to its power and data connection cradle. |
 |
Automatically, the most recent data is merged into the Vuetura Track database and the handheld computer is recharged.
After delivery, you can now use the Vuetura Track system to check status on any particular item or group of items, and to print management reports.
That's all there is to it.
